Burt's Pumpkin Farm

Today we made our annual trip to Burt's Pumpkin Farm.  This is our 5th year going and I think every year gets better.  We started taking Handley when she was just a few months old and because she had so much fun, our October tradition continued.

I look forward to this outing all year long and this year Jen, Justen and Parker were able to join us, too!  We started off with a hayride.  We've learned our lesson and know the line can get pretty long pretty quickly.  Although it was chilly during our ride, it was better than having to wait.

Talking pumpkins on the hayride

Harper wanted to hang out with Parker the whole time and love on him during the hayride.

After the hayride it was time for a little snack and then we started roaming around to check out all the different types of pumpkins.  They have every variety possible at Burt's and the girls had fun comparing the tall ones, small ones, bumpy ones, and colored ones.

Hudson seemed to enjoy his first trip to Burt's.  He fell asleep for just a few minutes on the hayride, but I woke him up as soon as we got off so we could take pictures.  You'd think he would have started fussing and acting tried, but I think he was in awe of all the people and bright colors, so he just went a long with it and stayed his happy little self.

All the kids had fun playing in the wheelbarrow and Harper was thrilled to get to "hold" Parker in her lap.

Just before heading home the girls each picked out a pumpkin to add to our growing collection at home.

On the way home, we stopped at a local BBQ place for lunch and wrapped up our outing until next year.

***You'd think the pumpkin patch would have been the big event for the weekend, but in fact, it was just one of the big events we had going on this weekend.  Saturday Handley had her last cheerleading game (I hope to post a video of them sometime later this week) and while I took her and Hudson to that, Robby and Harper went to test-drive a boat.  It ended up being the perfect one, so we bought it!  More on that later, too. :-)  Saturday afternoon we had Dylan's 2nd birthday party and then another Halloween get-together at our friends Brad and Ceylese's house.  Today after Burt's we made a quick stop by Gigi and Papa's and then it was onto our friend Charlie's 4th birthday party.  Needless to say all 3 of the kids were exhausted and in bed early tonight.  It was a very busy weekend, but SO much fun!
