Keeping Busy

It's no secret that we have been keeping really busy. Between school and sports we have very little downtime, but I love it and love watching the kids do what they do.  I recently saw something that said, "kids make the best kind of busy" and that couldn't be more true!

We are loving Hudson's baseball seasons even though it will soon be coming to an end.  He has learned a lot and has played great!

Even Daddy has gotten on board and helped at a few practices and ran the score board a few times.

I took the girls and a friend to watch our high school's cheer squad compete and see one of our friends. She did great and it made the older two girls so excited to cheer that night.

They looked great and did so awesome at the game.  And, we made the run-through sign, so it was a fun game.

Harper continues to practice hard for soccer and is doing so awesome.  Her coach is wonderful and we just love watching her each week get better and better.

While she is usually running a million miles an hour, she is loving the after school yoga club she just started.  Her and some of her sweet friends were practicing their yoga in the yard at her friend's house.

With a busy weekend of sports, we still like to squeeze in some other fun stuff and last weekend was Octoberfest at our school.  The crazy administration team dressed up in Frozen costumes.

The kids had fun on rides and in the bouncy houses.

We topped off our day with snow cones!

Just a few other random pics to share. Walker had to go to the vet last week and he is always so excited to get to go on a car ride!

And this nut told me the other day, "I need that stuff that goes on your armpits."  He keeps me laughing!

Apple Picking

It's been quite a few years since we have been apple picking and I wanted to be sure to go again this year.  We went to Mercier Orchards and it was a first for us.  Jen's family was leaving as we were getting there, but we got to see them for a few minutes and snap a quick picture of the kids together.

The weather was great that day and not too hot at all. We were able to walk around the orchard and check out all of the different types of apples.

We picked until we filled up our bag and we did a lot of tasting, too! Hudson didn't even know he really liked apples up until this point, but he ate more than the rest of us combined!

'

After we filled up our bag we went into the gift shop area and checked out all of the goodies they had.  All sorts of apple flavored things, but I knew just what I wanted... an Apple Cider Slushie!

The kids were big fans, too!

It was such a fun fall day we have been eating on our apples ever since!

Fall Break 2016: Part 2 {Great Wolf Lodge}

For the past few years Robby and I have been on a work trip over fall break so the kids have just had fun around home, but this year we had a full week off and no plans so we tired to come up with something fun to do.  A lot of people we knew had big plans...like Disney cruise plans, so I wanted to have something for them to be able to look forward to also.

We had been wanting to try Great Wolf Lodge and this seemed like the perfect time to do it.  For anyone not familiar with Great Wolf Lodge it is an indoor waterpark that is connected to a hotel.  You must be a guest at the hotel to be able to access the water park.  There are tons of other parts to the resort also and lots of things to do.  It is 100% geared towards kids and is definitely a trip for the kids.  However, we all had fun and made a million amazing family memories.  We only planned to stay one night, which gave us two days at the water park and that was plenty.

When we pulled up and saw the big sign we were all so excited!  As we checked in they handed out wolf ears to everyone.  The kids immediately put theirs on and even Robby was ready to get on the fun.  We figured while at Great Wolf Lodge we might as well join them so we put on our ears and let the howling fun times begin.

The entire hotel is themed and it was really fun to just walk to our room and take it all in.

We quickly got changed into our swimsuits and made our way to the water park.  There were so many different types and we tried them all.  From single racing ones that you went down on mats to double tube ones and even giant raft ones that we could all go on together.

After riding some of the bigger slides we went over to the giant treehouse area. There were tons of water hoses, squirting fountains and a few single slides in this area, too.  And the big attraction here was the giant bucket that fills with water and then dumps out on everyone standing below.  The kids loved it!

Next we tried the regular swimming pool area set up with basketball goals.  Hudson had so much fun at this spot and then the kids wanted to try the lilly pad jumping.  I didn't try it, but it must be harder than it looks.  They all got across though and wanted to do this over and over!

There were several places we could have eaten on property, but we decide to get dressed and go out to eat somewhere else.  Although while in the lodge you feel like you are really far away from the hustle and bustle of the city (because everything is so well done) but in reality we could have walked to a ton of other restaurants because we figured the wait would be a little less.

On our way to dinner though we stopped for a few fun pics.  We couldn't stop howling and if you can't tell, we like to make fun of ourselves and have a good time.

When we got back the kids saw Wiley the Wolf himself so they ran to hop in line for a picture.  We had just missed story time in the lobby, but at least we got our picture.  :-)

We decided to walk down to the arcade area and let the kids play a few games before dinner.  It was packed, but they had fun.  After a few fun games they turned in their tickets for some treats (candy!) and then we were all ready to hit the hay.

We spent the next day doing more waterslides and squeezing in as much fun as we could until it was time to go home.  We left around lunchtime so that we could get back to Atlanta before traffic got too bad.

We let the kids each pick out a souvenir as a reminder of our fun and then we were on our way home!  It was such a fun night and really it felt like we were there longer than a night. It was a great getaway and perfect for family fun.
