Handley (Santa) pulling Harper (a reindeer) |
Then they change roles and become the Mommy and Daddy as they say, "Honey, wake up! Come see what Santa has left you." Then they lead the person around the couch to see the pile of toys.
If they can't get anyone else to play, the two of them switch roles and still make the game work. It's so fun to watch and they haven't gotten tired of it yet. It's these little things that I hope to always remember because their imaginations are so vivid and so sweet right now.
We had a pretty low-key day that ended with Gigi and Papa coming over for dinner. Robby grilled steaks, Gigi and Papa brought the sides and all I had to do was run the dishwasher. I could get used to that kind of dinner. :-) Before they left we had a dancing performance in the garage. Gigi asked Handley to show her some of her tap moves. I don't let Handley tap on the hardwoods because it scratches the floor so she has to do it in the garage if she wants to tap at home. Harper, not to be left out, grabbed her ballet shoes and also put on a little performance of her own. She is just going to love Ballet/Tap when she starts after Christmas. All that dancing led to Hudson, Papa, and Robby joining in, too. And that, is what I wish I had a video of. Ha! We were all laughing by that point and needless to say, the girls were trying to hold Gigi and Papa hostage so they couldn't leave the fun. It was bedtime for everyone though, so we'll have to pick up where that dance party left off next time.

That game is absolutely precious. Definitely something that needed to be documented.
What is also cute is that new family picture on your blog. OH MY GOODNESS, that is a framer.
This is really funny! Kids are so creative!
