For about a month we have been working with Papa to plan her surprise birthday party. She didn't suspect a thing and was totally surprised. The fun began on Saturday morning. Robby told her he wouldn't be able to get away from work early enough to celebrate her birthday on Friday, so he had made reservations for us to all have brunch together on Saturday morning. That part wasn't a surprise. What she didn't realize was that Ryan, Heather, and Rylan (Robby's brother's family) had secretly flown in all the way from Colorado to be here for the celebration and the big surprise.
We were all waiting at brunch when she walked in and saw them sitting at the table with us. She could NOT believe they were here!!! It was such a fun morning and the kids all loved seeing Gigi so surprised and so happy to have everyone there with her.
First sight of Rylan! |
During brunch we let her know that there was another party planned for that evening at their house with all of her friends. That was a huge surprise too! We spent the rest of the day at their house getting ready for the party and enjoying watching the kids play together. The girls just LOVED getting to play with Rylan.
Around 6 PM all of Gigi's friends, neighbors and co-workers began arriving and although she knew the party was taking place she had no idea who would be there so each time she opened the door she was surprised to see who it was.
It was a wonderful evening and a great way to celebrate Gigi's birthday. Happy Birthday Gigi! We love you!
One note- I really loved getting to visit with a lot of Gigi's co-workers and friends. They were all such sweet women and it was obvious that they knew a lot about our family and the kids from pictures and stories they had heard. Hudson was quite the ladies man for the evening. They were all fussing over him and passing him around until I put him to bed, but he didn't mind one bit. I was a little worried how he would do with all of the people during his fussiest time of the day (right before bed) but I should have known that my cool, calm, and collected little guy would have just gone with the flow and taken it all in.
