Spring Break - Day 2 and 3

We are keeping busy and I'm sad spring break is already half way over.  I love having the kids home with me and we are having all sorts of fun.

Yesterday, we got up bright and early to head to the new house so I could meet with the painter, then it was off to Harper's ear piercing appointment.  She's been talking about this for at least a year, but since we let Handley do hers when she turned five, we kept the same deal for Harper.  Harper's birthday isn't until next week, but since they are off school this week, I figured we would go ahead and do it.

One of the nurses at their pediatrician's office does the piercing so I've always felt really good and safe about them getting them done.  Harper was so excited and didn't even flinch.  All day yesterday, she kept checking them out in the mirror and loved the way they looked. Handley was borderline more excited for Harper than Harper was herself. It was so sweet to see her supporting her sister!

Today we met some of our favorite and best friends (Jake, Reece and Christy) at the aquarium.  I was pregnant with Hudson the last time I was there with the girls so they didn't really remember much and it seemed like some things had changed.  We saw the dolphin show, which was super impressive and entertaining for us all!

Handley got to see one of her favorite animals, a sea turtle (in the bottom right-hand corner of the tank)!

The kids had fun running from one exhibit to the next and Hudson was super pumped about the giant Beluga whales and the Nemo/Dory look-a-likes he spotted.

We've been so lucky to experience wonderful weather this week.  Tonight after dinner we even went back outside to play since it was so warm and no one has to get up too early in the morning.  :-)  Hudson got to test out his early birthday gift from Mimi and Dadaw.  He loved it and I quickly realized that he needs a real bike helmet!  Daddy's hardhat did the trick tonight, but something with a chin strap will definitely be on his birthday list. (Or maybe even with his Easter Basket!)
