New Years 2013

We celebrated New Years Eve and Justen's birthday with dinner out and a party back at their house.  The girls were excited to wear sparkly outfits for the special occasion, drink kid wine (aka sparkling cider) and have a sleep over at their house.  It was nice to be able to put the kids to bed and stay up to ring in the new year with some of our best friends.  I didn't take one picture, except of the girls and their dolls in matching sparkles, but it was a great night.

From there we made our way to Gigi and Papas house to have our third and final Christmas celebration.  They were in Colorado with Robby's brother's family for Christmas so this just stretched out our Christmas fun.  We walked in and the kids went crazy over another big pile of gifts.  They are seriously spoiled by both sets of their loving and generous grandparents.  Today some of the girls' favorites were remote control cars, new ride on toys, horses for their American Girl dolls, and roller skates!  Hudson had fun hammering away with a tool set driving around his new cars and and jumping on the ride-on toys any chance he got.

After Christmas at our house I spent a day trying to find places for all the new stuff. I did the same when we brought a load back from my parents and I will have to repeat that process tomorrow when I tackle getting all of this new stuff put away.  We are going to have to clean out some of the old to make room for the new.

We had lots of great food for lunch, including a dip with black-eyed peas.  Gigi was explaining to the girls that it's a southern tradition to eat black-eyed peas on New Years Day and that it will bring you good luck.  She convinced them to both eat at least one and the rest of the day Handley was referring to it as the "magic bean" she ate.  She told me it was already working because she had the best Christmas ever and couldn't believe all that she had received.

While Hudson napped, the girls played with all of their new things, the guys watched the UGA bowl game and I even got a few minutes of a nap in.

Hudson looks mad, but he had just woken up from his nap and was still half asleep.
Today was a wonderful start to what I know is going to be another wonderful year.  I know there will be a lot of really big changes coming our way, but all for the better.  My only big goal for this year is to get us successfully moved and settled into a new home and to make that transition as smooth as possible for all of us.  Can't wait to see where that will be and when it will happen, but I trust that it's all going to work out and that we'll end up just where we should, when we should.

The girls looked so cute in their matching outfits. So glad we got to spend some time with you all last night ( and over the holidays)!
