Lake and Beach pictures

After checking out the pictures I took while on the boat and on the beach, I'm wishing I could figure out a way to bring my nice camera without it getting wet or in the sand.  However, I still was able to capture the week so here it is in pictures.

We spent day one on the lake at the waterfall cove and the big girls insisted on climbing to the top so up they went with the daddies.

While they were up there the little kids kept busy with their buckets and shovels.

Another highlight of that day was Avery getting to wake-board with Robby.  Handley was up first and gave Avery step-by-step instructions of how to hold on to Robby's legs as they got up out of the water.  Sure enough, Avery popped right up with him the first time and was so excited!

After spending the day on the water, it was fun to come back to the house and have "happy hour" on the deck complete with watermelon and Kool-aide.

Next up was a quick wardrobe change and then back out on the boat to head to Tiki Hut for dinner.  It's at the Lake Keowee Marina and always lots of fun to head to dinner by boat.

After dinner we saved our left-overs and fed them to the ducks and giant fish on our way back to the boat. Notice the bead necklace with the attached shot glass around Handley's neck.  Real classy. :-) They were passing those out at Tiki Hut and the kids thought the "little cups" on the necklaces were so cute. Ha!

After day 2 out on the water the kids were all worn out.  Thankfully, all 4 of them had no problem napping on the boat.

Big girls snoozing away

Next up are some pics from our time at the beach in Wilmington.  We all had so much fun on the beach and it makes me a little sad we aren't taking a big beach vacation this year.  However, you can bet that next year we will be spending an entire week somewhere with all 3 kiddos. :-)

Both girls couldn't get enough of the sand, shells, and waves.  It was exhausting for the adults because they didn't want to come out of the water and could have jumped the waves all day long.  The only problem with Harper doing this is that she would jump the waves, fall down (on purpose) and forget that another wave was about to wash over her head two seconds later.  SO, whoever was with her had to constantly have their hands on her and be ready to scoop her up.  She could have cared less about the waves washing over her though and was right back for more.

Handley loved collecting shells and trying to catch sea-gulls.  The other highlight of her time on the beach was boogy boarding.  She rode each wave in with a giant smile on her face.

On Friday we had planned to spend the day visiting my grandmother, running some errands and enjoying lunch before heading home that afternoon.  As soon as we woke up Handley started asking when we were going to the beach and she was crushed when I broke the news that we weren't going.  However, we did get to come home with a big bag of shells she and Harper had collected and they've enjoyed playing with those all week.

Oh, we had such a great time at the lake with ya'll! Love the pics. And your beach trip looks amazing as always! So glad the girls enjoyed the beach so much! I am also so glad you got to go to beach and visit with your family before Hudson's arrival. The countdown is on now! I can't wait!!

Looks like such a fun week! Watch out because next time I'm going to invite myself to join you :-)

So funny about the shells...I found a random bag of shells from our trip to Hilton Head last summer while I was packing up the downstairs closet and the girls haven't stopped playing with them. I'm thinking about getting rid of some toys...
