Surprise Trip to Orlando {Day 1}

A few weeks ago we had a fun surprise trip planned.  We took this same trip last year and were happy to be invited back again this year to the Braves Spring Training weekend.  We checked the kids out of school early and surprised them with the news that we would be heading to the airport and going to Orlando!  Needless to say, they were very excited!

I had packed their bags that morning after the girls had gone to school, but while Hudson was distracted.  It was such a fun surprise!  They are little pros and flying now and each of them did so great pulling their own suitcases through the airport.

When we arrived we got checked in to our room, but before heading out of the lobby they discovered the fliers for local attractions. I was cracking up because my brothers and I used to love stopping at rest areas and doing the same thing when we were little!

We had just a little bit of time to get settled and change before the welcome party that evening.  We snapped a few pictures on the balcony before we left.

The girls were so excited to be wearing some of their summer clothes and they were most excited about their new shoes.  I called them sandals to Harper and she informed me that they were actually called "high heels."  She loves them though and feels so big and grown up wearing them.

When we arrived at the dinner there were so many fun things for the kids to do.  They got balloons made, saw the lady on stilts, the girls got their nails painted, and then they all had their caricature's drawn.  I can't wait to hang them in the playroom!

We ended the night with them swimming for a little while before heading to bed. It had been such a long day and we were all beat.  Especially Robby who had flown in from South Africa that morning.  Talk about a whirlwind, but we were so thankful that he was willing to turn around and jump on another plane so we could have this fun weekend getaway.
