NTH Night at KSU
Kennesaw State University is pretty close to us and Harper's soccer club planned an evening for their teams to go and support the KSU soccer team.
She got to go on the field before the game for the National Anthem and was so excited to get to be up close and personal with the players.
She loved watching the game with some of her friends/teammates and taking in all the action.
After the game the team sets up for autographs on the field, so she got to speak to each of the players and get all of their autographs. It was such a fun night for this soccer loving sweetie!

Fall Break at the Lake
This year for Fall break we decided to just stick close to home and head to the lake for a few days. The weather and the water are still so nice late September and we had the entire lake to ourselves!
The kids swam, Hudson tried wake boarding for his first time ever and we just had a lot of downtime together as a family.
While we were there we realized it was the three year anniversary from when we brought home Walker. It was so appropriate that he spent the day with us on the water doing what he loves most!

B-A-T-S, Bats, Bats, Bats
Hudson's fall baseball season has been off to a great start and although his team has a lot of beginners on it, they have really pulled together throughout the season as a team and improved so much! They have a sweet little cheer they do before and after each game and it is has stuck for all of us.
B-A-T-S, Bats, Bats, Bats!
He got the game ball very early on when he caught his first pop fly during a game for the third out of the season. We practice ALL of the time and he is constantly begging for me to play catch with him so all of our practice was finally paying off.
He has since made several other pop fly catches, run down numerous runners to tag them out and made some really great plays. He loves when he gets to play teams that his friends are on and he got to play one of his besties recently!
He eats, sleeps and breaths baseball so I'm so happy that he's loving it and having so much success this season!
Key West - Part 2
On our last full day of our trip we had planned to head about 70 miles off shore to visit the Dry Tortugas National Park. We went here a few years ago and just loved all the history. The weather was looking a little iffy and we didn't want to chance being caught out in a storm in the middle of the ocean so we waited a while until we were sure it was going to clear up.
It's a long boat ride out there, but totally worth it in our opinion. The park holds Fort Jefferson and the Dry Tortugas islands. Surrounding the islands are beautiful crystal clear waters, tons of sea life, coral reefs and even shipwrecks!
The massive fort is the largest brick masonry structure in the Western Hemisphere and is made up of over 16 million bricks, which is really hard to imagine since it was built in the 1800's. It was used as a coastal fortress and later a prison and today it is part of the National Park services holding tons of history.
The moat that surrounds the fort is so interesting and the waters and beaches beyond that are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen.
After exploring the fort a while we hopped back on the boat and made our way over so those who wanted could snorkel the shipwreck and then we anchored at a nearby island.
We swam, walked on the beach, explored around the light house and just enjoyed what a beautiful day it had turned out to be.

We were so happy to have spent our last day at such a picturesque spot and it was certainly the best way to wrap up our trip!

Key West - Part 1
A little over ra month ago we took what is one of our favorite trips! We went to Key West for the holiday weekend and had the very best time.
We stayed in the same rental house that we have the past few years and it feels just like a tropical oasis!
After a grabbing a quick bite to eat we headed out on the boat and wasted no time finding lobster.
I should probably rephrase that. Robby and a friend we were with found the lobster while I stood watch on the boat. I'm not quite quick enough or talented enough to catch those things!
I enjoy the sun and beautiful views while the others caught a bunch for us!
Our group really did well that first day and we were loaded up with lobster from our afternoon on the water.
I see some yummy lobster dinners in our future!
The sun was setting just as we were leaving the dock that evening and it as the perfect ending to our first day.

The next morning we were up bright and early for a deep sea fishing adventure. I had never been deep sea fishing before and didn't really know what to expect. We went a while with no luck and I was starting to get a little sea-sick, which is really unlike me.
However, then we got into a school of Mahi-Mahi and things started going crazy. We heard someone yell, "Fish on!" and then the flurry of excitement started. We actually had 4 fish on and it was crazy for a few minutes there. All the guys grabbed rods and started reeling them in.

They couldn't get the lines back out fast enough to catch more and then Robby told me I was up. I was nervous because I didn't want to screw it up and loose the fish and I also wasn't sure I could reel in that big thing.

But, I just kept reeling and reeling and next thing I knew...

I had my big fish!!!

It was such a fun day and we ended up getting 19 Mahi-Mahi and 1 Tuna. It was such a fun experience and I'm so happy to have been on the boat for it!
Friday Night Lights
Generally the first home football game of the season the youth and jr cheerleaders are allowed to come on the field at the beginning of the game. It is so much fun for them to see the high school cheerleaders and get a feel of what it will be like cheering at a high school game. Hadley saw many of her teammates from her allstar gym and also some other cheerleaders she knows and looks up to!
Almost all of her squad was there that evening and they had so much fun!
