Billly Joel and Racing in Crazy Socks

We had a super fun weekend!  On Friday night, Robby and I got to attend the first concert to be held in SunTrust Park.  Billy Joel performed and put on a great show.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early for the Race For Research. We were decked out in our crazy socks for the race theme and Hudson thought it was pretty much the best day ever. He loves wearing crazy socks and to see everyone of us dressed in "pull-up socks" was a real treat for him.

The kids did awesome and all ran the 1K.  Harper got 2nd for the girls and Handley was 3rd.  Hudson finished not far behind them and he told me he was proud of himself because he ran the entire time!

Then the girls ran the 5K with Robby while Hudson and I cheered at the finish line.  We were heading to his baseball game right after that so he wanted to not wear himself out.

It was a fun morning followed by a busy day of baseball and soccer, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

In other news...we are in the middle of a huge landscaping project at our house and these giant pipes are just one piece of the puzzle.  Today the kids were playing in and on them.  So crazy to think these will be buried in our yard next week!

Dadaw Visits Atlanta

Last weekend my dad came in town to visit and we had a great time keeping him super busy all weekend long.

On Friday we met my brother for lunch at The Battery Atlanta and enjoyed walking around and showing him a bit of the stadium.

Saturday was off to a busy start first thing in the morning.  We had the annual RT spring family picnic which was so much fun.  This year was at Six Flags and we got to ride rides, play games and of course enjoy the picnic part of the day.

Then we made the trek to Harper's soccer game where she dominated and scored 3 of the 5 goals for her team.

After that it was time for Hudson's baseball game and he had some great outs and some great hits.  He loved having my dad there to cheer him on.

We wrapped up the evening with a cookout at Trey's house and officially declared Sunday our day to rest.  Such a whirlwind, but so much fun!

Easter 2017

I know Easter was a few weeks ago, but we've had a crazy busy few weeks and I'm finally getting around to blogging about it.

We usually go to the early church service, but this year we decided to just wait and go at 11.  That way we could have a relaxed morning at home and not feel rushed.

It is very rare that I can get the kids dressed in coordinating outfits anymore, but special holidays like this is an exception.  They looked so bright and beautiful!

After church we came home and changed into comfortable clothes before heading to Gigi and Papa's house for the afternoon.  They did their annual egg hunt and we had to use grocery bags because I forgot the baskets!  They didn't mind though.

We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing, playing outside, and enjoying this fun swing in the front yard.

It was the perfect day and made us super excited about many other days spent at the lake this summer.

8 is GREAT!!!

We celebrated Harper's 8th birthday last week and since her birthday falls around spring break, the Masters, and Easter each year, we did her party a little early this year.  She wanted a minute to win it themed game party and it was a blast!  The kids all had so much fun!

She wanted an ice cream bar for dessert instead of cupcakes so that is exactly what we did!  It was a sweet treat for our super sweet girl.

On her real birthday Robby got up early to make a donut run before school.  It's always hard waking up on a Monday after a week long break, but having donuts for your birthday breakfast makes it so much easier.

That afternoon I brought cake-pops to lunch so she could celebrate with her class and then the next day we had popsicles after soccer practice. I'd say we celebrated our girl every chance we could get and are so happy she now belongs to the 8 is great club!

Final Cheer Competition - FIRST PLACE

Handley had her final cheer competition of the season over Spring Break and her team was so excited to try to come out on top!  They got special t-shirts and were so excited!

My cousin, Bryn, was in town for the weekend and came to cheer Handley on with us!  She also brought special treats for the other two kiddos who were hanging out at the competition all day.

The Diamonds did great and by this stage in the game, we were all pumped up and excited to see them compete.

Bryn and her sweet friend even brought flowers for Handley!  It was such a nice surprise.

They had tons of fun at at the awards ceremony.  They danced, sang, caught sunglasses that were be tossed to the athletes and overall they were just having a great time.

After 3rd and 2nd place were called out for their category we knew they had won!  It was the perfect way to end the season and so well deserved.  These kids worked so hard and their determination and team work finally paid off!

Now, Handley is really excited about tryouts next month.  She's working hard on her tumbling and stunting skills and can't wait for next year!  It's been a wonderful cheer season with awesome people and I can't wait to do it all over again next year!

First Chorus Performance

Handley auditioned and became part of the school's chorus program at the beginning of this school year.  They rehearse once a week and right before spring break was their first performance. She was so excited and couldn't wait to perform.

They sang several songs. Everything from a Disney song, to pop and some classical.  Alone when she sang it I was proud of her, but as a group I was impressed!  They did wonderful and I was so proud.

Their next big performance will be when they sing the National Anthem at the Braves game in May and we are all excited about that one!
